A caller on Dennis Miller's radio show put something in an interesting way that I'd never really thought about before:

"Why does the left think that raising taxes on cigarettes will decrease smoking, but raising taxes on doing business won't have the same effect on the economy?"

Well, I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend! Mine was quite pleasant, if exhausting. I'd been helping plan our family 4th of July festivities on the Purdue side of my family. Found this article that questions why people are so depressed and pessimistic about our economy (not to mention the rest of our lives). i just felt like i should post an "addendum" to my recent job related posts. i am extremely blessed and thankful to have a job, and am very much indebted to my friend Jen for hooking me up. i would've been in deep, deep trouble had this job not come along. my current dissatisfaction should not be taken to in any way diminish that.

I've come to realize that looking for a new job, and the entire process that entails, fills me with a deep and prolonged sense of despair. Just total abject dread. God, this sucks.
