Seeing it this evening, but I just wanted to comment that Roeper (from Ebert and Roeper) also mentioned this film is more like The Departed and Heat than it is like a "comic" movie.

Yah, Christopher Nolan used Heat as his primary inspiration for The Dark Knight. He used Blade Runner for Batman Begins, I think.

No, that's not right. I'm pretty sure I've read that Christopher Nolan used Spider-man for inspiration for the first two movies, and me beating you to death with a baseball bat for inspiration for the third.
