During the course of a conversation with someone I have known since grade school, I happened to mention my most recent bout of being crazy. To which she replied "Nikki, you've always been crazy". And I realized something. 1) She was absolutely right, 2) She, and a whole bunch of other people knew it, and 3) They all loved me anyway ( Read more... )

In my case, "crazy" means "living with a serious mental illness", as I have bipolar disorder. It's kinda like homosexual folks refering to themselves as "queer", a take back the bad word kinda thing.

Right, and you're dealing with it and doing well. You're not the only bi-polar person I know, and bi-polar individuals have lots of options. Many bi-polar people I know are happy with their lives, now that drugs are available to smooth things out.

I wish something were readily available for me to do better, but getting a job does not just require my input....also needs someone on the other end who will hire me.
