Today I came across this excellent video on Buddhism, an interview with an American Zen Buddhist monk in South Korea, and I thought it so clear and revealing that I wanted to share it with you... and invite you to discuss this with me.

I agree, the interview is a clear and simple introduction to Buddhism. I especially like how he said that wakened nature already exists, both in ourselves and in everything around us, and this is where I see the connection with Paganism, because we are not fundamentally separate from anyone or anything else, and that others (including plants, animals, rocks, earth, and all the elements) also have this wakened nature.

And I liked the question about "what is it like to go into a Buddhist temple?" - in my experience, I also find that sense of peace - and I even find that with my own altar/shrine.

Just a quick bit of information, "Know Thyself" also known as gnōthi seauton was one of the maxims found at the Temple of Apollo in Delphi, Greece ... so it was around a long time before Jesus ;)
