Many places, especially around college campuses, buy plasma, which I'm sure you know is the colourless, watery part of blood. It's sorta like giving blood, only you get paid, and you actually get the non-plasma part of your blood back (they use a centrifuge to remove the actual plasma itself). The entire process takes about 45 minutes after your first time, which takes longer because of all the procedures you have to go through in order to qualify. When all's said and done, you can make between $30 and $35 dollars a session, around $60 dollars a week. It's easy money AND goes towards helping people who need it (although, since you're getting paid, I'm not really inclined to mark it down in the "good deeds" column

Huh. The blood bank over here takes plasma donors along with whole blood donors - y'know, as volunteers.
And oh, Bude. *facepalm* Believe me, you really do not want to give blood unless you meet all the safety requirements. No, really, you don't. Your overall health has nothing to do with it; it takes blood a while to regenerate, so if you gave blood too recently, that means you have less blood than usual, even if you don't feel it. So if they take blood from you again - or even if they just take plasma - you end up with dangerously low blood pressure. Passing out from low blood pressure and winding up in a hospital is not fun. I speak from personal experience on that matter.
