Recently a friend was whining about how with hidden expenses he's worried about his stipend stretching far enough in the fall. So he's been working and saving money like responsible folks

After my summer of extreme poverty last year, I know what eking out dimes is like (breakfast: oatmeal with no milk, lunch: 26-cent ramen, dinner: fried egg and Aldi-brand bread, etc.), and I would still be coupon-clipping if I were in a country where I could obtain coupons and read them. But I'm actually better these days at the not-doing-things kind of being poor than the doing-things part (since I can't sew, I guess). I really like how you've made it into a positive thing.
This reads weirdly, let me rephrase. I mean that I'm better at the coupon-clipping, buy-the-crappy-brand-to-save-twelve-cents, don't-go-out, skip-lunch-today kind of poverty because it's what I've done before, but I'm not good at your more constructive version. And what I like is your ability to do the constructive things, and to see it in such a positive light.

Wow, I'm so bad at updating things that my interest list serves as a time capsule. Enjoy it while you can because I am going to go ahead and make it more current soon. I am still very interested in eating things I shouldn't. It is also still in terms of safety and amount rather than nutrition and calories.

It never even occurred to me that it could refer to caloric content! Rather than, like, things that contain raw eggs, or, things that MIGHT have been dropped on the floor one time but come on, five second rule. Or other things like that.

If you click on the link to see who else has that interest there are a bunch of eating disorder communities and stuff, or at least there were when that showed communities and not just users.
