I'd rather have 4 really great years and pay for it for awhile than 4 mediocre years and come out debtless.

I very nearly went to Marquette. (Ended up getting a better scholarship and going to women's college... before the transfers began.) What a beautiful school.

So, you'd like to stay in the midwest, then?

Have you thought about Washington University in St. Louis? Also a very close-knit, generous, highly academic school with a very cool student pop.

Not to throw more choices in the mix.

I don't have any objections to leaving the Midwest; I just haven't made any visits outside it yet.

I'm visiting WashU in September.
