happy christmas party time!

My current Christmas music playlist, which got me through loads of spreadsheet-headache hell today at work:

"Lonely Christmas Eve" - Ben Folds [I love Ben Folds--especially cranky Ben Folds ;)]

"Christmas Is All Around" - Billy Mack [Irascible, washed-up rockstar Bill Nighy? OH YEAH.]

"Give Me A Second Chance For Christmas" - Candy Butchers [ ( Read more... )

Hmmm...well on the less tradition side:

Fairytale of New York - The Pogues

Also a very pretty song is "Winter Song" - Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson

"12 Days of Christmas" - Straight No Chaser. Check the vid of it. all kinds of awesome once it gets into it.

And of course the classic "Little Drummer Boy" by Bing & Bowie

OMG, the Bing/Bowie LDB is pretty much my favorite "traditional" carol ever. Good choice there, Deano. :)

I totally just listened to the Christmas duel - it's hilarious!

I also downloaded a Jars of Clay xmas album, and the version of Little Dtummer Boy was very different, and I don't like it nearly as much

Hehe, right? They're so mean to each other in that song, but it's so cute. Had it stuck in my head all day on Thursday!

Ok, so I've been on a xmas music kick, and I found a pretty good album you can download for free on emusic: http://www.emusic.com/album/Various-Artists-Redeye-2008-Holiday-Sampler-MP3-Download/11332186.html

It's got Apples in Stereo, Fleshtones, and Supesuckers

Ooh, I *love* the Apples and Supersuckers, but boo--they won't let you download it without choosing a plan (which, $11/mo. would not normally be a problem for me, except that I'll likely be unemployed come February). Sadness!

All of this back and forth has totally gotten me in the Christmas mood, though. I should go see what kind of freebies amazon.com has. Hehe.

you can totally do it for the trial, and the 50 free songs, and then discontinue.

Boo, unemployment! What's happening?

BTW, I totally think you should email me the Jump song. I used to have it once upon a time...and then I lost it somewhere along the way. Heh...I had the tape single!

Really? Hmm. I may have to try that!

My company didn't get our contract renewed, and our current one ends on January 31st, so I'm in the process of trying to find something new for when it does.

And I'd TOTALLY be happy to send you that song--will do it right now, in fact. It's a *live* version, too, so woo! :)

(I still have so many things onn cassette tape, it's ridiculous. I refuse to give them up until I have al of them on cd!)
