Damian's Birth Story

Apr 02, 2009 14:44

I finally decided to write up Damian's birth. I posted it yesterday and then deleted it because I felt embarrassed... I'm not a good writer and I have difficulty expressing the way I feel in a way that I think is accurate, and sometimes I can be extremely critical of myself. <3 Thank you, and for your message as well. I probably wouldn't have re-posted if you hadn't sent that, and I think I really needed to get this out.

Alexandra, this is beautiful and made me cry. I know so many parts were so hard and frustrating, but in reading it, I am overwhelmed by how many strong beautiful parts there are. Reading hard birth stories, which some pregnant women avoid while pregnant, are even more helpful to me, I think. Kati sounds like she was a wonderful help to you. What are your feelings about Alina after all was said and done?

Can I ask why you decided on the eye ointment? Not to question you, but we haven't made that decision yet, so I thought I'd get your opinion.

Thanks for posting this!

This was great to read! Please don't delete it. You went through a whole lot, and yet you still were determined to have what seemed to be the best labor for your son.

*Hug* Thank you for sharing this. You are so amazing and you did the best thing you could do for yourself and that little boy. Even if there was some ick (pediatrician) at the end, you handled it the best you could at the time. At the least, you've grown from those experiences. It is so hard to be a new mom. You want to do the right thing for your child and so many people (medical professionals included) have conflicting opinions.

You're doing such a great job and you have a beautiful, happy, and healthy baby boy to show for it. :)
