Lumping these into one post because they should both be relatively short, seeing as I'm going to be running them again and don't want to give away too much.

AgonFirst off, it went MUCH better than I expected. I mean, I didn't expect horrible, but when you're pulling what Seannittner and I pulled, it's hard to expect greatness ( Read more... )

Steve described the Agon game to me at breakfast on Sunday. Sounded awesome--and draining. Are you guys going to try that again? Cause I think I'd like to give it a shot.

Yeah, it was both awesome and draining. :)

The siege on the hill was probably my least favorite overall from a game pacing standpoint (we had some nifty scenes happen there, but I think it was slower than, say, the peach orchard, and less creepy atmosphere-building).

That said, as far as plot points available in the scene, the peach orchard would likely be the next to go. That's mostly because I like keeping the pair of encounters that comprise the Canadian's plot, though. Had he not been played, I'd likely put the peach orchard above the encounter outside of Gettysburg.

strip out the intro scene (start them with gear and on their mission.) Alternatively, have one of each group trip over one of the "items" only to be accosted by priest/professor.

after that skip the kid in the boat. There wasn't much to do and felt a bit tagged on.

The sacrifice scene was pretty damn cool, as was the hilltop scene. I liked the peach orchard for pure squick factor.

In regards to the "What I'd change" from dread: Shooting the one NPC in the face was one of my favorite parts of playtesting that game :(
