N'aww, Jills :< *hug* Your GPA is fine. I don't know about gradschool, but as a general rule the higher you can get it the better your chances are. I wouldn't compare yourself to anyone else though-someone else is always going to have more friends, a higher GPA, a better resume, etc. You'll always be miserable if you do that. Focus instead on yourself: you want to improve your GPA and your habits to better yourself and increase your chances to get into school, right? That's a worthy goal. Don't taint it by having to compete with people too, you'll just drive yourself crazy because you'll never be good enough. You should want more friends because you want more friends, not because someone else has more. You're enjoying life while still maintaining a good GPA-you're not as bad off as you think. You probably work harder than I do.
