If you like Imoen, then this is going to piss you off. Note that in bookverse, for some reason Imoen has lost her Bhaalspawn abilities, rather than gaining them, as she should be. Also note that if bookverse had let Imoen become a mage, like she was supposed to, this whole thing would've been resolved by Imoen casting Dimension Door and getting ( Read more... )

(Dimension Door, True Seeing, Darkvision, Stoneskin -- and that's just the arsenal at fourth level or lower. Given where this falls in ToB, she could be throwing Wail or Gate or any number of instakills, with some SR debuffs to make them sure.)

Doesn't she actually end up as a rather famous archmage, at the end of ToB? If you have her in your party, the ending screens of 'and this is what happened to them'.

Yep--in the epilogue she hangs out with Elminster and Khelben "Blackstaff." And she actually calls herself an archmage during ToB, but so do Aerie and Nalia.

Technically they all have valid claims, since they become epic-level mages during ToB and throw around 10th-level spells. ("Archmage" as a PrC only showed up when PrCs showed up in 3E.)
