I haven't ever finished anything b y Mark Twain :x and I started The Scarlet Letter and only made it to about page twenty. So hard to get into.

WhoHoo! I just wandered on here and want to add my two bits--I hate Scarlet Letter it is just toooo wordy. In fact, I hate just about anything from that era to Hemingway, where somebody figured out how to streamline words. Don't ever try The Last of the Mohicans is wordy beyond words.

I can't believe you've never read anything Lord of the Rings! Actually, I never read it until the movies came out. If you love YA then start with The Hobbit it isn't as complicated of a read as the others. (Tolkien had this love affair with making up his own languages and the deeper you get into the thing, the less straight english there is.)

That was the one with the Jewish girl during WWII, right? Well, if it was, I loved that book. It was so good. I remember reading it in... the 4th or 5th grade... I think. I'm hoping that is the book that I'm thinking of. It may not be...

I read that last year in French class, and well, since it was written in French... I kinda didn't understand it, and I thought it was a drama, turns out it was funny. So I really need to get to reading that.

Anyway... yeah, I might take some of those nooks into account next time I head to the library. Which won't be for a while, though, seeing as I have a shitload of fines... woops!

Eeee! I'm so excited someone else has read them. That's so cool. There is a spin-off series by the same woman... but they are starring boys. I don't know if it's boys from the Daughter of Moon series or not. There are so many of them. I'm so behind.
