I so sympathize. I was diagnosed with mixed bipolar II about a month ago, after many years of thinking I had depression. I was prescribed lamotrigine as a mood stabilizer, to take along with my SSRI. So far, it's working well for me. A diagnosis of bipolar seems daunting, but it is manageable. And it's important that you get the right meds for it, ones that will work for you.

My new doctor didn't want to decide a final diagnosis at this time, but she switched my meds to lamictal (lamotrigine) and cymbalta (duloxetin)...
No more efexor, Yes!!!

I really hope this will work out.
