I heard part - but there was a lot of ... well, gossip. We were all talking about it but there were no two stories alike. What really happened?

I went home.
Willow showed up not long after that. School had been closed
early, not that I cared.

...but I had to care about why.
They'd found a student's body in the AV room with his throat
torn out. Kevin. Willow knew him...I never got the chance to.

Yes, that kind of thing - well, some never get used to it. Even some slayers. There are stories... When I was that age, 16 or so, I didn't want to be a field Watcher once I understood about that side of it. We get ... well, conditioned, though.

You can't save everybody.

I got that. Then.

So, thought about it, hugged Willow, thought about Kevin and about
his family--and went underground to where the Master was sealed in.
