It's funny...

I was always the girl who knew what she wanted to do in life. Yet, I sit here in my mom's house doing nothing but looking for office jobs (which I'm underqualified for as they all seem to want at least 2 years of office experience) or casting agency jobs (which sometimes I AM qualified for but have yet to recieve any interview offers, despite my ( Read more... )

Hey its reticentdream, but i don't know my password by heart and am away from home.

I have a deep-seated fear of NYC too. Sometimes I think part of why i always gain weight is that if im thin and theu reject me, theyre rejecting the real me, not just a part.

Boston took gettting used to, but I'm guessing i could likely deal with any city now. Not that i'd want to.

You don't always have to compromise so much though. You can make opportunities, especially if you look where no one else is. I believe you can make any dreams come true under any conditions.

Thanks for the advice:) I think Boston is a good stepping stone to NYC. I bet you could make it there now!

I think NYC is one of those places that can be intimidating at first (especially by contrast to a place like Amherst), but once you're actually there you learn how to adapt to it.

I really love the city; I think it's refreshing. I find that people there are so much more accepting and less judgmental than Massachusetts in general. People tell you to your FACE exactly what they're thinking. An overall snooty attitude doesn't pervade everything, as people there are USED to being around what they're not used to. And it's certainly not too lonely!

Yer a talented girl, I think you should go for it.
And if you ever make it down, let me know and we'll have coffee or something.

Was that when we went to the Sondheim thing? Driving around that city is scary as shit too. Maybe it's just an intimidating place.
