I have a deep-seated fear of NYC too. Sometimes I think part of why i always gain weight is that if im thin and theu reject me, theyre rejecting the real me, not just a part.
Boston took gettting used to, but I'm guessing i could likely deal with any city now. Not that i'd want to.
You don't always have to compromise so much though. You can make opportunities, especially if you look where no one else is. I believe you can make any dreams come true under any conditions.

I really love the city; I think it's refreshing. I find that people there are so much more accepting and less judgmental than Massachusetts in general. People tell you to your FACE exactly what they're thinking. An overall snooty attitude doesn't pervade everything, as people there are USED to being around what they're not used to. And it's certainly not too lonely!
Yer a talented girl, I think you should go for it.
