they do best in morning sun - afternoon sun is too strong and will give them sunburn. If you want to keep it in your office, you can get a grow light.
My sister in-law is an orchid freak. She puts a small amount of fertilizer (1/8 teaspoon, I beleive) in a gallon of water and waters once a week. This is good if the soil is like a moss soil, which most orchids are planted in. You just don't want them to be soggy wet. I believe there is soil specifically for orchids, if you want to repot them.
The blooms should last for a few months too.
enjoy!

How stupid of me! I forgot you are a plant-minded person as well! I shall amend my title!

Thanks for the tips. I'm trying to identify the type of orchid, but not having much luck at the moment. Grrr!

I really don't know much about orchids - I just know what I had to do when my sister in-law was out of town and I had to watch her precious babies. They're too high maintenance for me :)
