Giles and I had retired to my room, because the din in the house was almost painful. Well, that isn't quite true. It was painful. I was worried about bo..all three of my daughters, all their friends, their friends friends, and honestly it was exhausting. I'd been forgetting to take the pills they gave me at the hosptial, but it was okay. What's a ( Read more... )

She was talking then suddenly a scream and unconcious. All my training, everything I have dealt with in the last five years and this happens all I can do is stand here in shock.

Somehow I snap myself out of the shock, out of the standing here like an utter ponce and rush to Joyce's side pleading with her to wake up. I realized my pleadings were futile, I had to call for help.

I Dialed 911 demanding the hurry, someone had to help her.

As part of my internship I had to ride around with the ambulance crews. I'd sort of forgotten that. Having Glory take over parts of my life sometimes made it hard to remember what I was meant to be doing. That bitch. I hate her so much ( ... )

"Instead of chastising the boy for releasing her think you could possibly shut up and help her." I said angrily then felt his hand on my shoulder, it was odd, but it didn't seem to comfort me, though it could be that I was more concerned for Joyce.

When he asked if she was my wife something in me lit up. I did truly wish that there was more to our relationship and the memories we had...I wouldn't trade them for the world, but having her as my wife, that is only something I could dream of, though I could never tell her that.

"No she is not, however she is truly like family, so I will be accompanying you to the hospital." I said to the young man. Then it suddenly hit me, he said he knew her....there would be conversations about that later.

"No she is not, however she is truly like family, so I will be accompanying you to the hospital."

I could tell from the guy's voice that Mrs Summers meant something to him. Kind of sweet when old people have the hots for each other.

"That's cool. Hop in the van with us. Don't worry, we'll look after her." We followed the gurney into the back of the ambulance. I lowered my voice. "These guys may be smartasses, but they know how to do their job, don't worry."

We got to the hospital and handed Mrs Summers over to the doctors.

"I'll take you to the waiting room, Mr, um, did you tell me your name?" I asked. "I'll let you know how she is as soon as possible, but I'm afraid you can't go into the room with her. So if you just come this way, I'll show you where the coffee machine is," I said, gesturing towards the waiting room.
