JOBLESSNESS

While in College it was so easy to criticize the corporate work world and claim that I was never going to end up in a cubical. However, after graduating, my views on employment changed. All of the sudden I felt a strong need to have one of those jobs. My dreams of making a living doing music seemed so lofty and nonrealistic. I’m not really sure ( Read more... )

Work can be such a derogatory word. Try using the word "profession", or better yet "chosen profession." "Work" is still associated with the old days, where one had to "work" on a farm or on horses feet or mining compressed calcium, not dealing with something that you are passionate about such as music. Even if you are a professional in an office that deals with the industry, at least when you talk with your co-workers/co-professionals it relates to music.

Though I can't deny it's hard to push that feeling of buying a suit to go to the office for the day out of my own head.

seeing that I've been lifting heavy boxes all day, I think that it's ok to call it work.

Yeah, that's work. Today at "work" I farted, and I hope my coworker (a nice old lady) didn't hear. I think that farting is easier than lifting boxes.
