Ya wanna know something? I did the same thing when I was heavier. Before I got serious about losing weight I justified just about everything I ate for exactly the reason you mentioned - to lessen my guilt. With me, it had nothing at all to do with anyone else, I never uttered anything to another soul. It was all the dialog in my head. French fries were ok cause they were potatoes, and potatoes are a vegetable. Pizza was good cause it was a balanced meal - you had your grains in the crust, milk in the cheese, meats, and veggies. Nothing unhealthy there! Fried chicken was fine cause hey, chicken's less fattening than beef, right? I was a pro at it, and my inner voice could justify just about anything...except being 278 pounds.

Keep laughing honey, one day it will catch up with her, and then it won't be so "good for you"...
