[Dist is out in his driveway, meticulously working with the Kaiser's gun. He'd been a bit nervous about powering him up, but unlike last time he didn't start sparking and exploding, so Dist decided to count his blessings. Later on he would do a more thorough inspection, but for the moment his main project was modifying the gun to fire something

[AND HERE'S JECHT, RUNNING UP TO FIGHT THIS THING]

"The hell...? A machina?"

[Jecht might be confident and badass, but he's not really into getting sliced in half by a giant buzzsaw, so he reluctantly lets go and drops to the ground. The saw shears off some hairs from the top of his head as it swings by, and his bandanna falls to the ground.]

"What the hell is with you, anyway?"

You're the one who tried to destroy the Kaiser! I was just protecting it!

[He walks the Kaiser back a few steps, powering down the saw. He doesn't particularly feel like killing anyone today.]

AND you punched me! In my beautiful face!

[Points up at the cockpit.]

"What are you gonna use that thing for, anyway? Back where I'm from, shit like this is why all the people live in fear!"

[Now that he isn't being actively attacked, Dist feels safe enough to open the cockpit back up; however, not being entirely stupid (just mostly stupid) he doesn't power it down. Just in case.]

It doesn't matter! The Kaiser is mine, and I won't let you destroy it!

[Grunts, spitting on the ground.]

"Fine, but don't come cryin' to me to save you when you get punished for havin' that thing. You deserve whatever you get."

[He knows deep down that Mayfield isn't Spira, and that things are different here, but he's seen too many people suffer at the hands of Sin because of their pigheaded insistence on relying on machina.]

Why would I come to you for anything after what you tried to do?! You split my lip and tried to destroy my masterpiece! You just don't understand!

Look, it's simple. Where I'm from, that thing you're riding is called a machina. People built 'em, got too cocky about their own power, and got smacked down for it. Hard. The punishment'll only stop if everyone stops usin 'em, but people are stupid, and there's still some guys who refuse to give it up. That's why I can't stand the sight of your Kaiser or whatever the hell you call it.
