nothing too blue

not much to report in the dismal void that is known as Columbia, Missouri. I finally got the police report for the accident i was in on the 12th. I had to go down to the station and protest via 'sit-down' until they coughed it up. It shouldn't take 2 weeks to get a report, that's ridiculous, especially considering that they'd been sitting on it ( Read more... )

poor kitties :-( that is very kind of you to take them to a no-kill shelter. i would do the same thing if i couldn't keep them.

Yeah, I don't think I can bear knowing that these cute little critters would be put to sleep if no one claimed them. Unfortunately all the shelters are so full of stray cats right now that even the no-kill shelters are afraid that they may have to destroy a certain number just to gain enough room for more drop-offs. It's really sad. Today was pretty warm (mid-70's, surprising for Missouri in November) so I think those little strays are going to be alright for a while.

i wish i would have known that a long time ago. i had to take my kitty to the humane society a few months ago because he was tearing shit up and i could afford to have him declawed. i called back about a week later and asked if he had been adopted (i was sure he would, he was so pretty. all white with one blue and one green eye) yea they said he had kennel cough so they put him to sleep. i cried for so long :(

I'm sorry to hear about your kitty :( It sucks knowing that the pet you wanted but couldn't keep ended up like that. How long did you have the kitty before you had to give him up?

just so you know, de-clawing a cat is very very inhumane. it would be like someone ripping out all of your fingernails one by one. a humane and healthy alternative is to clip the nails with a small nail-clipper. if you train your kitten by clipping them when he or she is young, the cat will get used to it and allow you to do it when he or she gets older. i clip my kitty's about once a month.
