Funny, I was just talking about this today. I thought when I was younger that The Ramones sang a song called "I Want A Piece Of Livin'", not that that makes any sense. The Cars' "Shake It Up" had the line "Don't let nobody pick your bum". Sound advice. There's also a recent popular rock song by one of those Matchbox-20 type groups that has a chorus that begins "If I could be like that", but the singer's inflections make it sound like he's saying "F**k me like that..." I've also listened to tons of rap since a very young age, and there's been plenty of lines I could talk along with phoenetically but never knew the actual words until much later. There are also lyrics you always knew the words to but never really knew what the words meant. I can't remember any specifics right now, but it's kinda like knowing Grace Slick sings "And if you go chasing rabbits" without ever having read Alice's Adventures In Wonderland, then you read it one day and you just have to slap your head. In a related story, when I was young I thought that ( ... )

AHAHAHAHAAAA! So true so true. Yeah I remember the first day I REALLY understood the lyrics to "White Rabbit" and was like "HOLY SHIT" It was soewhere around Jr. High... I think it was after I saw "PLATOON" and was sitting there singing away to my Sountrack to Platoon and I found a copy of the lyrics somewhere at some music shop and it hit me like a ton o bricks. I was like "Oh my god this is Alice in Wonderland". I was never the same again.... LOL

Oh man. NEVER touch "Sillly Little Love Songs" ONLY paul cna make that song sound good. ONLY PAUL... Now I have to go out and find that song. Damn you Matt, now I am tortured till I do! LOL!

You're not the only one by any means. I should show you the books of misheard lyrics that I have. Some of them are quite amusing (such as "She's got a chicken to ride" from the Beatles song).

Oh I'm sure I wasn't. And I would LOVE to see the books. That would be splendid.

I already told Benn this one at work today, but I'll repeat it for the general viewing audience: I was once watching an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, and as the opening theme song played, a friend of mine exclaimed, "What? His bosses didn't like him so they shot him IN HIS FACE???!!!"

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

etc
