Did is seem like most of the people at the snake market were there because they wanted to buy things or out of curiosity?

hmmm

You know, I am not so sure. I know that Snake Alley used to be the "Red Light" district because snake bile is supposed to enhance sexual performance. So there used to be tons of brothels and what not with snake goods vendors out front of them.

When we went, it seemed mostly like tourists, but when I looked in the restaurants that served only snake stuff, it was almost entirely Asians (but who is to say they were not tourists, too).

Snakes? No thank you john1082 December 5 2004, 13:43:12 UTC
Snakes, whether benign or poisonous, quick or dead, are nasty things. I could not see anyone ever wanting one for any purpose. You can have mine - please enjoy. And yes, I have eaten snake and it tastes like chicken. As does dog, rat, monkey testicles . . . .

The move will probably make all the diference in the world. When I went to college I had little choice as to where I would live and was miserable for the first couple of months. So miserable, in fact, that I bought a one-way ticket home for Thanksgiving. The week before the sun, moon, and stars fel into alignment and a space in a dorm opened up. It was the only thing that kept me at Cal.

Enjoy.

I am going to drink a shot glass of snake blood once before I leave, and i am going to eat stinky tofu once before I leave - it's my goal. How exotic is it to be able to say "I drank a shot glass of snake blood while in Taiwan"
