Back during my high school freshman year, people mentioned "Lexus Nexus" or "Lexis Nexis" or something like that, and I heard it mentioned in passing in my polisci classes in college.

Well, it came up again in my job searching, so I finally decided to look it up: LexisNexis is a law and journalism text search research tool

Is he working at that Senator's home-state office or DC office, out of curiosity?

Also, the three references thing wasn't for working for this Representative; it was for an entirely unrelated job posting in politics (and having rather little to do with sciences either, unfortunately).
