Two people of the same gender, who are hot, having a homoerotic moment = ho-yay.

Two people of the same gender, who are NOT hot, having a homoerotic moment = ho-yuck.

"Ho-yay" sounds like something Peggy Hill would say.

Well, the term's been around for a while on the interwebs... I just had never heard of ho-yuck, but it would apply to say, Jack and Rhys while the former would apply to Master/Doctor.
