How big is the guinea pig's domicile? Could you keep an alternate domicile for her and move her into it, then clean out the first one at your convenience. Next time reverse the process, etc.

It is approx. 2x2.5x2.5 with an "upstairs" (a ramp leading to a second level). All I really have to clean is the pan, and I line it with puppy training pads so it is easier to throw in the garbage. I also change the old towel I put underneath the cage to catch things that fall out. She sits comfortably in a small Sterilite while I clean it, with treats and her toys...but she gets impatient.

When she was a pup, I also tried getting her a small litter pan (one made for ferrets) but she ended up still going in the bottom pan and then using the litter pan as a nesting box. ;)

And it is rare that she gets visits from the dog and the cat, unless the dog is desperately seeking moi or it is happening in the evening, when cat is up and hunting (she is a nocturnal cat). I was just trying to create some sort of humorous look at a weekly drudge task.

My pig is spoiled enough to have her own blankie. ;)
