I dropped her off at 7:30, and haven't heard from them yet. I'm hoping it's just that they haven't gotten to her yet, or are fixing her as we speak. I forgot to give Roger a dollar limit above which to call me...hopefully he'll call me before he makes any repairs. These guys are old family friends (mostly of my brother and sister) and at least ( Read more... )

Well, it was originally "minor" trouble...they found that the alternator belt, bearing and pulley were worn and that was the noise I was hearing. Then, when they got in to replace those, they discovered the alternator itself was bad. So while it wasn't cheap, it wasn't as expensive as the numbers I was thinking in my head, and it was lucky they discovered it before I got somewhere and the alternator completely died.

They also fixed it so now I can get my hood open again (and didn't charge me for it). :)

Next fixes: the exhaust pipe, a tranny flush, and a new driver's side door handle.

Things we have found help:
1. one cup of organic coffee first thing in the morning (then none the rest of the day)

2. NO TEA.

3. Drink water/juice as though it were 90degrees out. Winter dehydrates almost worse than summer and it is harder to tell.

4. Cut the salts and processed sugars.

5. Exercise minimum of 30min a day. Something that is enough to get your heart rate up.

6. Eat fish-- kipper snacks are a fairly economical/easy way of doing so without boosting your sodium much.

7. Get a full spectrum bulb for one of your lamps and sit by it for about 1hr a day.
