From little things, big things grow...

So, Sharon and I went down to the Live Earth concert on Saturday.

It was a great day, but freezing when the sun went down.

We made the very, very wise decision to get something to eat at 10:30am when the gates opened, as I was starting to get a bit suspicioud about the fact there were only 4 food outlets and 4 bars for over 50,000 people.

By midday, people were queing for over an hour to buy a drink or food. Obviously, it was organised by a moron who has never organised a festival before.

The stage and screens were so low that only the people in the super expensive Oval A section could see the stage, and a giant Front of House section blocked the view for most of us in the unreserved section.

However, most of the artists put on a fantastic show, with the highlights being Blue King Brown, John Butler, Wolfmother, Paul Kelly (and his fantastic rendition of Little Things, Big Things with everyone out on stage) and of course, the fantastic Crowded House performance.

Eskimo Joe were a bit of a let down again (although that may just be me. I can't get past the singer's ego, which at one point actually managed to eclipse the sun).

Crowded house had the entire stadium singing along with every word, and despite all lights in the entire stadium blacking out two songs from the end (despite the fucking annoying giant screen at the other end of the stadium that didn't have the footage of the artists on it for reasons unknown) everyone was up and dancing around.

It was amazing to hear 50,000 odd people belt out Weather With You, so loud it almost drowned Neil Finn out completely.

Overall, it was a great day, and I just wish I didn't have this fucking cold throughout it.
