Nurse Rosa
Cecil’s head appeared from behind the door. “I got some fresh fish from the river.”
“Good, give it to the cooks.” For once she paid little attention to him. Instead she poured some water into a glass and handed it to Kain.
The dark knight disappeared and she took the empty glass. Then she gently wiped the sweat of Kain’s forehead. “How’re you feeling?”
He gave her a watery smile.
“I knew something like this would happen if you two went camping again.” Though she tried to sound stern, it was clear that she was more worried than otherwise.
Kain was lying on a big bed in the cosy room. The curtains were open enough to let in some sunlight. His cold had gotten much better, but somehow he had forgotten to inform Rosa.
“My magic isn’t helping much, is it?” she asked, moving his hair back with her soft hands.
“It’s okay,” he said. “I guess I shall be fine in a day or two?”
“We’ll see,” she said, sounding genuinely stern now. “But I’ll take care of you until I’m absolutely sure you’re okay.”
He nodded dutifully.
It was going to be really tough.
