Another day, another interview?

Since my last post, I've had an additional interview that went fairly well. Despite that, I did not get a callback. The principal made it fairly clear that they would make their decision that day and notify whomever they picked that afternoon. I'm jealous of whoever they picked - it looks to be a fairly awesome school. The position was for 4th

There were 400 students total in my entire k-8 elementary school, wtf

Yeah, it's different from anything I've seen before. My 6th grade class had maybe 100ish. Then I changed schools, and 7th/8th had around 75-80 kids. The school where I interviewed today is grades 6, 7, 8. They basically split the 6th grade into 3 big chunks, and 7th/8th into 2. So there are 7 big chunks of students in the school - which is huge, as I found out today. And they were powering through interviews like crazy. I don't even know how many people they saw. It would be fun to work there though!

Holy moly that is a lot of kids. I'm not terribly surprised though, lots of people seeking comfort and verifying life 12ish years ago. :P

Good luck! Don't get defeatist (if you can help it) until 2 weeks into the school year. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that something clicks sooner rather than later!

Two weeks into the school year, I'm taking up subbing and going weekends-only at work. I hope to get a full-time teaching job by then, but reality is looking me in the eye. -_-
