I went to see ROTK today, and quite frankly i was dissapointed at so many story changes being made *sulk*. I was already aware of some stuff that was gonna be scrapped from the film....but to just swap the storylines around to fit in more Arwen??? PAH!!!! Ship that bitch off on the next ship and give me more of the real stuff. Also I think the end

whoa u went to see the foo fighters? ROCK ON!!!!!!!! and yeah i felt the same way when i first saw TTT, all the changes just had to grow on u lol, but now TTT just gets better and better everytime i see it! im sure youll feel the same way about rotk!

Well I agree with what you're saying about RotK, Beeski, I was terribly disappointed in a lot of ways, most of all those liberties they've taken with the story (and some were just plain stoopid, eg. the host of the dead failed to go to war for 'the last king of Gondor'... er, Isildur was not the last king!) But yeah, then there are the more noticable things - no Palantír to explain Denethor's behaviour... an explanation of Gollum's roots that was obviously put in because they thought it'd be a cool intro, but then they failed to follow up the flashback with any meaningful scene of present-day Gollum... daft Legolas/Gimli fights... and generally just not enough info about the history of what's going in Middle-earth. I know, I know, they can't get all this into a movie, but I'm not gonna say it is amazing when so much is missing

That is sooooooo weird Poppet, I was only thinking about Denethor and the Palantir when I got up this morning ! I was also dissapointed at the lack of Dunedain turning up ....a host of sweaty rangers *wail*, and the paths of the dead were meant to be sooooo dark you couldnt see a thing! tsk! no houses of healing :(( , no explanation of Fara and Eowyn getting married....just a bloody long ending and lots of shiet about Arwen. They could even have fitted in the scouring of the shire if they took her skinny arse off film. :D (from all 3 films LOL)
Apart from that, yeah it was ok
But I can imagine non-bookworms to come out a little confuzzled indeed.
