Well, I have a couple Apple quandaries today. First, I tried using Apple Lossless Encoding to import a couple cd's in iTunes today. Well, it went fast, sounded sweet, but OH MY HEAVENLY LORD those files are HUGE! So I deleted them all and reimported as AAC. Took longer. Sounds about the same to my ears. So today Steve Jobs, Apple's iCEO, announced the Mac Book Pro, a much-needed replacement to the PowerBook G4 featuring the new core dual Intel Proc. Great. So they announced the equally-needed upgrade to Intel for the iBook too, right? No. Instead, they decided to stick one in the iMac, which was doing just fine with the G5, for now. Grr. So Mom & I went out to Wendy's to get some fast chow. I'm driving. Waiting at the second window for our burgers, we get plowed from behind. We seem ok. Car's drivable. The driver's seat is twisted/busted though. The bottom part wobbles, the seatback is a good couple inches farther back. I wouldn't want to take another hit in it, for sure. ( Read more... )
