No laws against child endangerment, no. And he was afraid of me...and I think hoping she'd get killed just getting to me, since he couldn't get the shoes off her feet. They weren't terribly powerful, of course, but Munchkins are very superstitious, and he wanted to reannex Munchkinland.

Know what bothers me more? The 'Good' Witch sent the chick off on a life-threatening quest, in shoes she'd stolen from the cooling body of the Wicked Witch's sister, only to tell her that she never needed the shoes or the Wizard and the power was in her all along or something. So she could've gone home five minutes after she arrived, but no, she had to learn a lesson. And the lesson was that life outside your comfort zone sucks, you're not meant to aspire to anything, and the best life you're ever gonna live is in your miserable hovel in Kansas or wherever.

I mean. That's warped. What kind of dream-crushing sociopath is the Good Witch?
