Yeah, I guess it's been a while

A couple of months ago at work our division VP decided that we were going to a 9/80 work schedule. For those not familiar with this, it means that in our two week pay period (80 hours) we work 8 nine hour days and then one 8 hour Friday and get the first Friday in the pay period off. Today was my first off Friday and I have to say, score one for ( Read more... )

That work schedule sounds pretty great! Having long weekends come about regularly is nice. It means you can actually get things done for a change! Which it sounds like you did today :o)

So I have pretty bad laryngitis... I know this is a direct result of yelling my lungs out at the Caps game Tuesday night.

Ah, I've been there. After a particularly cold (but exciting!!) PSU football game, I ended up with bad case laryngitis, too. It's annoying to deal with, but what better way to wind up with a raspy or lost voice, right?

Still watching CSII am seriously impressed by your loyalty. Even if it is to Paul in particular and not the show. I was dedicated to watching Gray's Anatomy for years, mainly out of habit, but last season (this season? I don't even know) I stopped. Things got so wonky that I couldn't justify watching it when my time would be far better spent studying ( ... )

Thanks! The sore throat is gone today so except for tree pollen trying to kill me now I do feel much better.

I still watch Gray's too and will probably continue to the end, like I did with ER. I figure if I made it through "Denny is a ghost", I can withstand most anything that show throws at me. CSI, however, mostly is a shell of what it once was. The characters really don't resemble what they were when Grissom was still there. I blame writers who apparently never watched the early seasons and like to make the CSIs act like cops now.

I think what you said about Girls kind of sums it up for me. It's okay and I'll continue to watch but I don't get the hype either.

And I woke up this morning thinking it was Sunday so knowing that I still have another day off is kind of awesome!

Hope you feel better.

As for CSI. I watched my first episode since Cath left and I remembered why I stopped watching it. And of course it was the "Seattle" episode. Funny I don't remember Seattle having palm trees, ugh... I <3 PG but not enough to keep watching.

CSI is the only show that I watch for one character/actor. Everything else is due to the ensemble, the writing, the setting, etc. Watching it for one character/actor makes it a little easier to tolerate but when there's no Brass, there's no reason to watch. And any more PG is not in four or five episodes a season now so I can skip those.

What's really pathetic (besides palm trees in Seattle) is that if the writers were any good, they would bring back the bromance that existed between Brass and Grissom but with Brass and DB. There have been hints of it but I get the impression that ever since the Ray days, they don't have a clue what to do with Brass or any of the detectives for that matter.
