In other news, the JKR web chat transcript is a pretty interesting read. Lots of Deathly Hallows spoilers, and some not spoilery stuff. I'm not sure I like her laying out future!verse canon for us like that, since I rather LIKED

I actually think the Hufflepuffs have the more badass of the common rooms and dorms, personally. Cause, hi. Who WOULDN'T want to go through a hobbit hole to get to bed? ;)

I'm not saying it's bad, it's just ...kind of funny. (Actually, it's pretty typical of JKR: stealing from other authors and making it sound like her own idea ...) Now someone just needs to write fic where Tolkien was actually a wizard and was in Hufflepuff when he went to Hogwarts. :D

Well, actually, what she was going for was that they're badger holes... it's just that badgers dig round tunnels, so I can see why that would lead to round doors.
