So, uh. I just renamed my account. I am the LJer formerly known as fugitivehound. I've been dissatisfied with that name for a long time for various reasons, but was hesitant to make the change since it's been my fandom ID for so long. It also makes me a hypocrite, because I hate when people rename their journals and I have to try to remember ( Read more... )

Lol, I know, right? I'll keep the reminder up in my userinfo, though, so when you're "Who the eff is this and why are they on my flist?" you might be able to figure it out. :D

How are you, by the way? Not moving from LJ with the rest of the exodus, are you?

You have to pay $15 for one. Of course, now that I finally bit the bullet and did so, I'm finding out that there may be a mass exodus from LJ following the banninating of various HP artists for "obscene content." Which I think will fizzle out once LJ buckles under the demands of the screaming fandoms, but you never know ...

Ah I see. I wonder what percentage of people on LJ are involved in fandom. My guess would be at least 75 to 80%.

I dont think I'll completely move, I'm too lazy.

Well, if you consider it as the number of paying members, then yes, I think 75-80% (or more) is probably a good estimate. There are a lot of out-of-use LJs, or ones that people just use to talk to their friends (although those are becoming less frequent with the advent of MySpace and Facebook). LJ needs to realize that it's future lies with fandom ...we are the solid infrastructure that they depend on. If they don't fuck us over, we will ALWAYS be here, even when everyone else moves to MySpace and Facebook and whateverelse.

Lol, yay! I love it too! :D It finally got freed up in the last journal purge, and I've been back and forth about whether I was going to change, but I'm happy I finally did. \o/

Thanks! I've been fugitivehound for FOREVER (about the past 5 years), but it was pretty fandom-specific, and since my interests are so broad these days, I've been wanting something ...not. :)
