lj_biz has turned into a big wank-fest, no surprise there. Their recent post brought up more questions than it answered, and their employees seem to cause more problems than they solve. Also, the original outcry of "You can't kick us off for drawing underage fictional characters!" has now become "You can't kick us off for drawing underage fictional ( Read more... )

I just ... Oh my God. I can't believe LJ hosts those communities. I feel all wrong.

I know the feeling too. I've been on LJ for 5 years now but after reading all that crap about the child-abuse communities, I just ... Ugh.

The part that makes me feel the worst about that whole child-abuse/pro-anorexic shpeel? Is this comment: Guys, LJ thinks we're worse than these people.

And from reading what the LJ admins have posted? She's absolutely right. They don't seem to give a damn about the anorexics helping each other slowly kill each other, or the religious nutcases helping each other emotionally scar their children. But those of us posting gay porn in our journals? We're the freaks, the nonconformists, the detriment to society.

And I know, logically, that it's all business - that LJ is only doing this because they've had pressure put on them by their sponsors and/or social/religious groups. But still ...Jesus. There are people out there who are more concerned about our writing/drawing porn about fictional characters than they are about real people doing a bad things to other real people.

It kind of makes you despair for society as a whole.

...Yikes, sorry, I didn't mean to rant back at you! D: I guess I just feel very strongly about this entire

I don't think they give out an actual programming schedule until you get there. There are general events that are listed on the website (like the Yule Ball, which I will be attending), but I don't think they're saying what panels are being shown what days, etc. I don't even think there's an autograph schedule yet.

Suffice to say, apparently there is always something interesting going on, so you shouldn't be bored whenever you decide to come. :)

Yeah. It's understandable though, because a lot of guests cancel or are added last minute (Sean Astin canceled, woes!).

I can't find anything about it on the web page, but my friends who have been before assure me that there is one! :) I'll see if I can find out what day it is ...
