ouch indeed. a win was rather improbable, but i at least hoped for a good fight thus slowing the tumble in the polls we shall take in the next few days. on the bright side, hopefully that was sean glennon's last start.
I was hopeful for this season. The vaunted D was largely intact from last year, the receiving squad is supposedly top notch. There's certainly hope with Brandon Ore, and I thought maybe Glennon would finally hit his stride.
It appears that the fatal flaw is a pretty weak offensive line. A weak offensive line= a weak offense.
Why didn't Beamer go with Taylor from the beginning?
not too bad rankings-wise all things considered -- still in ok position to rise in coming weeks. hokies have three relatively easy games coming next so as to gear up for the hardcore acc campaign after that, hopefully time for tyrod to get comfy. though the o-line woes give MUCH pause. we shall see.
i think beamer hesitated on pulling glennon out of loyalty and a general seniority system -- the reports out of spring and summer camp did state glennon won the competition outright. again, we shall see...
don't worry about the D, LSU is no. 2 for a reason, and three straight 3-and-outs to begin the game for the hokie offense provide only the barest respite for their D counterparts.
go back to russia where the heineken flows like limoncello, hippie. the rest of the world may prefer the pitch, but the gridiron is our own private imperial war metaphor, dammit.
also of note, d.c. hit the sports trifecta today with DCU, nats and native americans all winning.
and finally, i told you all to bet your second or third mortgage on the patriots today, that those fine actualized women linked to last week were all cracked out in picking the jets. and does anyone listen to my solomonic scribblings? are we makin' it rain yet? 38-14, we coulda been rich, i tells ya. le sigh.
