Tenby is a town: it has streets and shops, a market and even a small hospital. Quite a big place by local standards! The nearest city is Swansea, about an hour away, though I suppose by national standards, even Swansea isn't a big city.

It is a rambling place. I looked it up : "The grounds for the house were the gift of local townspeople of Tenby to Charles Norris, the artists whose paintings and engravings helped to attract tourist to what was then just a small fishing port. The house was built in 1818 and remained the painter's home until his death in 1858."
What it was to be a painter in 1818! Though presumably it was smaller then.
