Such wonderful photos! I have always wanted to visit New Orleans! I don't know what it is about that city that makes me what to see everything. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with Hollywood glamming it up, but from what I've seen it just seems so amazing.

It's nice enough to visit, but not to live because it's a high crime area. But there's lots to do there for visiting: tasting its magnificent food such as gumbo and beignets, riding the street car while enjoying the sights of the beautiful homes in Uptown New Orleans, enjoying the night life in the French Quarter, the Riverwalk and casinos (if you like to gamble a bit). Audobun Zoo is a world famous zoo and there's Pat O' Brien's, a bar famous for making delicious hurricane drinks. The city is replete of restaurants for fine dining including Commander's Palace and Antoine's. St. Patrick's Cathedral is just as gorgeous inside as it is outside. The city also has a great art museum. I do recommend a visit when you can!

This is probably a silly question but you know to upload photos on your posts is that what it means by 'user pics' or Is the user pics your display photo that appears at the side of the posts?

The photos I download here are photos I've already downloaded into my computer. When you post a new entry, and press "enter" and inputting the title of your entry, you will notice an X, click on the X, and it provides you with various dowloading options. Click on the first one "download media" and it will allow you go into any area of your computer where you have photos stored and download them into your entry.

User pics are your profile pics. You can create them through Live Journal and exchange them out when you want. But it's different: a user pic is your profile pic that appears by your name.

The cathedral is beautiful!!! Was it harmed by Hurricane Katrina?

I wasn't living in New Orleans anymore when Katrina hit in 2005 but the cathedral was unaffected. The water surge was caused by the breech of the levees so the whole city wasn't necessarily flooded.
