At first glance, Honey seems like a little kid. He loves cut things and sweets, is easily excited, and will cry to get his way, if necessary. Ghosts, dark places, and other creepy things absolutely terrify him, and he always carries his beloved bunny, Usa-chan. He appears to always be clinging to Mori, and, as a result of coming from a wealthy family, the functioning of the world of the commoners is new and interesting to him.
However, there is much more to Honey than this. Honey's carefree attitude is a result of his strong belief that one should be true to one's self, rather than trying to change. He had initially attempted to act tough in order to please his father and live up to the Haninozuka name. This did not suit Honey at all, as he had an absolutely miserable time ignoring sweets and attempting to act harsh. It was Tamaki that convinced him that being true to one's self showed more strength than attempting to deny himself of the things he loved.
Furthermore, he is surprisingly clever, even calculating. He is the top student in his grade, and he is quite willing to use his cuteness to get what he wants out of others, usually with a fair amount of success.
Honey is quite observant, easily catching on to the feelings of the other members of the host club. He is the first to realize that Kaoru loves Haruhi, and he is quick to notice that Kasanoda is actually a kind person, who doesn't need to change. In such moments, Honey can appear uncharacteristically serious, although he quickly reverts back to his normal energetic personality immediately afteward.
Physically, Honey is incredibly strong. He comes from a family of martial artists, and is said to be a prodigy even by their high standards. He's actually a Judo champion, and he's the former captain of the karate club, but he seems to prefer eating cake with his friends to martial arts.
Although not easily angered, he is very protective of his friends, and so it is best not to threaten them. Additionally, he does not appreciate being woken up, and doing so is likely to result in injury to the one responsible, or so the rumors go. Depriving him of sweets is another way to invoke his wrath.
For the most part though, Honey is quite friendly and easy to get to know. He's bouncy, cheerful, and optimistic. He likes to talk, and can go on for ages, especially if the topic involves cake or sweet things. He's very generous towards his friends, so long as it doesn't involve sweets, as he generally likes to keep his candy to himself. He has a teasing side as well, as seen by his interactions with Reiko.

Honey rubbed his eyes, Usa-chan tucked under his arm. He glared at his surroundings, clearly not happy. He'd been taking a nap, and was evidently angry about waking up in this strange place. What's more, Usa-chan was soaked.
He held the bunny out in front of him for several minutes, still half-asleep.
After several minutes of this, he had woken up enough to take in his surroundings. Eyes filling with tears, he hugged Usa-chan tightly and stood up.
"Takashi?" he sniffles. "Wh-where am I?"
