I was going to let know about that LJ IP logging feature, but it looks like you already know! What you can do is go to a site like www.dnsstuff.com and find out the contact info for that domain, and then email the web server to say that you are receiving spam from that particular IP. That's pretty drastic, but good to know. One of the our other honoursgirls, etherealreverie had an anonymous comment that looks very similar to the ones you're getting. But then it's impossible to tell! I find turning on that IP option is very effective in keeping most anonymous posters from commenting.
Also wanted to let you know that once in a while I browse your journal through Val's friends pages, because I like Val's friends. I hope you don't mind, and are doing well this year. Thanks for putting up with all rowdiness when Val used to have us over!

if i wanted to go to the trouble of remaining ip-anonymous obviously i could. but what would be the point... has there been some kind of heinous crime committed here? there would be if you reported my activity as spam to my isp, because that would be lying.
so you have a public web-log, but you don't want the public to read it? and that is my problem somehow? um if you don't want anyone to reply to what they read, why not disable the anonymous replies?
