Thank you for this post... it sums up some things I'm dealing with very well. In my case, I logically know I'm depressed and even have mild meds to deal with it, but I don't like acknowledging it at all.

I...it's a long story but there's an element of shame and feeling like a failure in admitting that I'm depressed. I'll probably post more in my LJ but this sparked some deep thoughts on the topic. Mind if I reference/copy pasta parts of this in my post?

Of course you may use parts of this post. In fact, my general take is that anything is free to be re-used/linked to if it's a public post, without need to ask. If it's a flocked post, then ask away and I probably still wouldn't mind.
