Yaoi con X3

Sep 29, 2008 11:16

Alrighty then! I have just gotten back from y-con! It was soooo much fun! Of course it is definitely not for the faint of heart. SO if you're willing to go further to see outrageous photos and to learn about all the crazy stuff we did just
So for all of those of you who don't know, yaoi con is a convention directed towards yaoi fans. And if you also didn't know Yaoi (やおい)is a popular term for fictional media that focuses on homosexual male relationships, yet is generally created by and for females. Well this con has it all! Transgenders, malexmale couples, femalexfemale couples, transexuals, rabid fangirls, japanese people, bishounen that you can strip, spank, and or hug, and then people like myself, your average yaoi fangirl. The people here at this con are so inspirational. They all have stories about how a con like this has helped them overcome fears and persecution they have faced or even being able to not feel like a freak because they get to express themselves with people who understand and love the same things you do. I think by far, the most shocking part about this con was not the men going around in dresses or almost in the nude, or getting hit on by some of the ther fans there, but that my mom was more into it than myself and sister/her friend. My older sister was in so much disbelief that she was attending this kind of con that she was as red as a cherry (LOL, I don't mean in the sexual kind of way...)all weekend. I attended several events and had fun at every single one.
Friday
Like all cons, this one started off on the wrong foot. In the beginning we had stopped by my crazy rich grandmother's and wasted about 2-3 hours. At that point we still had not packed and needed to do food shopping. I was also still working on my cosplay props, which I had spent several hours and precious moments of my life working on and I desperately needed some EVA foam to finish some stuff up. We couldn't pick up any but my mother assured me that there was a Joanne's fabric store near the convention center. We got home late and rushed to pack up. Everyone was tense and stepping on each others toes, so to speak. So when we finally left the house it was about 8 or 9ish. We got to our hotel room and were unpacking and, guess what? I left behind a part of my costume. Well, I broke down and began to cry like a little baby. I had worked so hard and all for nothing!!! Well, I had to get over it and continue on with the show. We went to the con to pick up our badges (Because preregistration can do late night pick up).

So while getting our badges I was recognized as a y-con virgin (everyone else was as well, but noone wanted to admit it....=____=). Anyway, we decided to head over to yaoi strip bingo! -^_^- Ku, fu, fu, fu! You can only guess what happened there. The rules of the game are to win a bingo by buying the bingo board from one of the +___+ beautiful bishounen, and when or if you do, you get to go up onto stage, get a prize, and then after that pick a bishounen to strip and or spank. (This is all willing mind you, they volunteered and are getting paid for it) My mom desperately wanted to win, but unfortunately we didn't TT_TT. Well actually, I don't think I would have it in me.....Well anyway, we got back to the hotel around 1:00 a.m. because we hadn't eaten yet... (yay for Taco Bell's late hours)
Saturday
On Saturday morning, my mother, that beautiful angel helped me get  to a store to buy a new part to my cosplay and the EVA foam needed for my gloves. I can not thank my mother enough for helping me. Thanks to her, my mood improved tenfold and I fell in love with my cosplay. So basically we just hung around and ate munchies, and ate Fresh Choice for dinner ( I paid).

Most of the time we were in the dealer room. I spent $200, and I'm happy I never went over it. Although, I would have loved to have bought some extra goodies. After dinner we went back to the con and watche Haru Wo Daite (Embracing Love) Winter Cicada. It was awkward watching yaoi anime in a theatre with a bunch of people and my mom right next to me. So we did the only thing we could think of. We made fun of the acting! LOL! You pervets probably thought the oposite. Oh! We missed the bishounen auction which made us all sad. We were hopeing to get our hands on one of the bishounen until we discovered they went for about $500. The highest price was $1500!!! But anyway, my mom really wanted to go to the dance so Rebekah and I decided to go with her. Her knee was acting up so I was a bit surprised when she began to dance with Rebekah and I. It was like prom all over again. I had no idea what to do. Thankfully some guys in dresses, that's right, really hot guys dressed as Sexy Snow White, Sexy Sleeping Beauty and other Disney characters began a line on the dance floor tat we hooked onto. Man! I wish I had grabbed Snow White. He was hot. Anyway. People began to make a circle of break dancing, which was cool, but didn't iclude the rest of us dancers. SO our line cut straight through them and broke it up. After or line dispersed we began to dance again. There was this one Dante cosplayer who kept freak dancing with my mom, and then he came up to Rebekah and I and tried it with us. I freaked out and we fell over together onto the floor. I felt bad because I really can't dirty dance and he really wanted to. Sorry Dante, wherever you are! We got back to our room around 3:00 a.m.
Sunday
Sunday as you know was the last day of the con. We signed up for the Bishounen brunch at 1:00 and were served personally by all the beautiful bishies at the con! *_* (drool) They were soooo cyu~ute!

All of them waited hand and foot on us! ^_^ It was the best part of the con in my opinion because we got to get to know the bishounen on a more personal level. They would talk to us about their personal life and ask about how we were liking the con so far. Oh yeah! We got some of them to take pictures with us! Chelsea that lucky dog got bit by one of them on the neck. But she was completely scared and embarassed. =____= made me sad I didn't get a picture with him.... TT_TT

So we went to the closing ceremony and had a lot of fun. Basically they raffled out prizes and spankings. It was a lot of fun. Check out my facebook for the videos we got of it. A lot of stuff was fun and sweet. Oh yeah! We met the sexy Kakashi and he was awesome! He gave us a little strip tease and he gave us hugs. In the end he posed in a picture with us and as I was walking way he gave me a pat on the butt. LOL!

Anyway, I love'd the con and can't wait for next year. Hopefully more people I know will be there!! ^_^
Cosplay pics....pre and post productions
The wig

Alright, well this is my wig that I wore. Doesn't look like much when it's not on someone, but this is the wig I worked so hard on! ^_^  I put in a bout 2-3 hours in styling this wig. I used a freezing spray and dried it on low with my blowdryer.

The wig with the flame I made on it. Everyone was soooo excited about the flame. They all wondered how I made it and it quickly became a big hit! ^_^

Goodies

Pencil boards for Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn. I really like the one on the right. I want to cosplay as Tsuna in that summer yukata!!! I loved the one on the left too! The images are just adorable! I'll scan it in later. ^_^

This is a plastic book cover that is a speacial cover for the newest Reborn volume. I really love the orange jumpsuits! I wanna buy the Hannibal Lecter costume at Spirit and use it for this cosplay!!!

An adorable Moofia doll from the Toki Doki brand. I'll be using it to decorate my table next year in the artist alley.

Ooh, la, la! I couldn't resist buying some KHR doujinshi! *meow* Yay for hot yaoi and random crack! ^_^

These're going on my Wushu bag!

Not everything I got but almost all of it! I spent $200 in total.
So, one fun weekend!
