Contrary to what canaryblack says, I'm neither cute nor cool though I can be quite nice.

Anyway, guess how many books I need for honors history? Go on, guess, I'll wait...

omg, totally do NOT buy all 6 of those books at once. last year i bought all my books for this one class, which ended up being about 200 dollars worth of books, and only really used one or two of them. i never even OPENED a 100 dollar book he made us buy. my experience has been, with classes that 'need' lots of books, to just wait until the professor assigns work/reading from them, or tells you he's going to assign work from them in the near future. because i know i ended up getting screwed out of $100+ bucks because my prof put a bunch of books down that we ran out of time for.

I wish I didn't have to buy them but they're assigned readings in the syllabus. So, we'll definietly be using them. Can you believe that? 6 books. If they weren't on the syllabus there ain't no way I'd get them. And the sucky thing is that we only will be using a few selected chapters from each book!!!!! I almost cried when I saw that list because I thought, I'd only need MAYBE $120 worth of books and with any luck I'll get these for cheap.

that's the thing though! the books i bought and didn't use were on the syllabus too, that's why i bought them... and then we ran out of time and didn't get to use them. that really sucks that you'll only be reading a few chapters out of each book though. ;_; hmmm. i dunno, i'm always scheming up ways to avoid giving the bookstore money, lmao. sure, they may not be GOOD ideas... but they're CHEAP ideas, and that's what matters when it comes to giving NYU more money. lol.

yup, that's pretty par for the course for upper level history. I had two last semester for a total of 16 books. The best part is how we would have to read the whole book and we would dicuss it for a week and move on. I always check to see if they are in the public and college libraries before I buy.
