Masuda celebrate Christmas in a different way this year. He celebrated with everyone at a concert.
Granted, he didn't do much on Christmas. He would normally hug his mother, hand her a gift, watch her open it eagerly while munching on the gyoza she made, hug her again when she smiled that gleeful smile that Masuda always loved before turning to his father and handing him a gift. He didn't hug his father but he did share another piece of gyoza while waiting for that approving smile that he cherished.
This year, his traditional morning gift giving had to wait a bit longer. But that's okay, Masuda thought. He got to spend it with his members, powering up his experiences.
He liked Koyama's idea of exchanging gifts the night before. It made the dressing room extra cheerful and the makeup girls had strung some lights up. It was more power he drew for the concert, to make it extra special for everyone who came just to see them perform on Christmas.
He dove in with glee into the flavored honey sticks Ryo-kun gave him, not noticing the soft smirk Ryo-kun sent his way. He cheered loudly with Yamashita-kun over the amazing variety of coupons to some of the best yakiniku restaurants in all the cities of their current tour from Koyama-kun.
All in all, it was a very good time and they had an excellent bento meal. He even wore the yellow and pink sweatshirt with neon green stars immediately after receiving it from Shige and Tegoshi. It matched perfectly with the deep, sparkly purple pants Nakamaru had given him a few days before. His friends were the best!
Masuda gathered up all the happiness he felt from their celebrations and just shared it with the audience that night. Nothing could crush that joy he felt. Not even when he accidently tripped and fell down during the MC's or that his mic wasn't working for a part of Miso Soup. He just sung harder and laughed a lot more.
At the end of the concert, they had to do a bit more of a meet and greet which was totally okay with him because he was still high from the concert and the amazing energy that swirled around them. He felt like he could sing and dance for another few hours and still not be exhausted.
He met one of Yamashita-kun's fellow actresses, Horikita Maki. He had really liked her in Kurosagi and had even told Yamashita-kun that they acted well together. Yamashita-kun introduced with with a lazy smile and a small "Bang!".
Masuda just grinned really widely. "Just like Yamashita-kun, ne?" he had said before greeting Horikita Maki. She laughed and agreed. Masuda felt his heart pumping a little harder but thought it was still just concert high and dismissed it, chatting lightly with Horikita-san.
He felt it again when she mentioned that she really thought his solo was good. "I like Pumpkin, Masuda-san. It's really fun to dance to." she said shyly, a light blush on her cheeks.
Masuda grinned even wider, not noticing the warmth in his chest. "Thank you, Horikita-san."
"I want to learn part of the dance." She said boldly, looking up at him with hopeful eyes. "Yamashita-kun taught me the moves to Daite Senorita."
"Anytime!" Masuda spread his arms wide. "Dancing is such a great way to express yourself."
Horikita-san looked delighted at his acceptance and Masuda felt oddly excited about teaching her.
"Maki-chan." Yamapi called out liltingly. "Massu is the BEST at teaching us how to dance. You're in good hands."
Masuda ducked his head in embarrassment as Horikita-san exclaimed in excitement. But he was really touched that Yamashita-kun had such faith in him. "I'll try my best!" He declared, completely happy with the world today.
This was one of the best ways to spend Christmas away from home.
Omake
"I wanna be your," Horikita-san sang softly, her eyes sparkling, "PUMPKIN!"
"Yes! YOU'VE GOT IT, HORIKITA-SAN!!!" Masuda threw his hands up in the air and did a little dance with her in celebration.
Horikita-san clapped her hands. "I want to try it again!"
Masuda immediately calmed down, nodding and grinning hard in support. His breath caught in his throat as she approached a little closer. He watched as she bent closer, her skin flushed with a healthy blush from the dance.
"I want to be YOUR," Horikita-san smiled and leaned even closer to Masuda's face, "Pumpkin." She gave a light laugh and kissed him on the cheek.
Masuda's jaw drop. Oh. OH..
"Silly Masuda-kun." She said with a sassy tone. She didn't say anything further when Masuda grinned up at her and kissed her back. On the cheek.
"My mother always told me not to kiss a girl on the lips before the first date if I wanted to bring her home to meet them." Masuda said shyly, his heart thudding.
"Your mother is a wise woman." Horikita-san said solemnly.
"But she said nothing about a hug." Masuda gently pulled her into an embrace. Horikita-chan just laughed and hugged him back.
