Does anyone on this list read/follow Naruto? (I don't think so, but I thought I'd ask anyway.)

It's the anime's fault I even care, actually. Jiraiya is voiced by my all-time favorite seiyuu (he melts me like butter), which made me check it out. :)

I think you'll have to wait for the next few installments to know for sure, but I'm pretty sure Jiraiya's dead. His throat was crushed - Hard to see how anyone can survive that.

I base my conviction on the short jump to Tsunade. That happened with Asuma's death too.

Thanks--the news doesn't make me happy, but it does make me want to spend my winter break reading and catching up on the series, so I suppose that's good. :)
