Yay muni protest

Mar 07, 2010 16:09

I'm taking *public transit* (said the way one might say *manure*) I mean this is the city whose buses are the subject of local jokes, like being said to "run in packs."

No wonder they attracted an actual protest in the streets.

Meanwhile the Japanese are running crazyfast trains scheduled to the half-second. How embarassing.

Your thoughts?

The only way to fix Muni is through radical change. You need to take Muni off the streets, take cars off the streets, or make the streets flow smoothly with both cars and Muni. Just saying "Transit First" doesn't make it so.

Awesome. I totally <3 radical change.

I would love to take muni off the streets and build an extensive, smart subway system.

What would you love to do?

use it more often! complain about things that aren't working to the folks in charge of it. tell your friends to take public transportation. it's the involvement and use of the transport *by the public* that will show your city that your system needs work.

Hehe already happened... crazy grass roots protest from tons of diverse groups that weren't coordinating with each other all showed up to say "We're fed up with your bullshit!" lol.

So, to obtain the head of MUNI' # and put it on speed dial...
