the roommate (a portrait of...)

After having lived with this guy for close to 9 months, I am gradually putting together the pieces to form a more complete picture of who he is. He's a rather interesting individual if you consider the fact that I haven't known anyone quite like him in my life. On the outside he appears to be a simple, small-town, prim and proper white male, but ( Read more... )

Mr Man sir,

This is Henry.

Usually I wouldn't make a comment without reading the whole post, but I'm gonna write one anyway:

First off, I'm gonna take a moment to LAWL. I read up to the part about arrogance and blaming stuff on others. Failure can be hard to deal with if someone thinks they are uber pwnage at everything. Especially if they get rejected by people/programs that they really care about. Maybe this is a wake up call, a smack in the face by reality. Hopefully the next step is acceptance.

I must say, I am so jellos of your writing skilz. You inspire me to learn more English.

Ok after reading the whole thing, I realize that this is indeed a sad sad man. I feel sorry for him. He really needs to get out more and discover the world. Maybe he craves your attention because he really has nowhere else to go and no one else to turn to. I'd feel pretty weirded out if I were in your situation. I just remember the last time I visited, I kinda wanted/needed to leave and I remember you had some assignment to do, but then he kept talking and continuing the conversation...for quite an extended period of time. I think you finally went to your room and thats when it finally ended. But yeah, he is an interesting guy but overly socially awkward and doesn't take cues/hints very well.

Maybe he's just lonely.
